Established in 1980, The Wild Animal Sanctuary is a state and federally licensed zoological facility and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We travel the world to rescue captive exotic and endangered large carnivores that have been abused, abandoned, exploited or illegally kept. Once the rescued animals arrive at our state of the art facility, they are rehabilitated and provided with veterinary care. Thereafter, we provide our rescued animals with a forever home and place them in large natural habitats. We operate two facilities within Colorado totaling more than 10,000 acres and currently care for more than 520 Lions, Tigers, Bears, Wolves and other rescued animals! We are largest and oldest sanctuary of its kind in the World.
