African guitar music & Japanese enka fan.I am a music fan and amateur musician. I still consider myself a citizen of the world, even though Globalisation is considered something of a dirty word these days. I fervently believe in cultural exchange. My own life has been substantially enriched because I have crossed borders and experienced many different cultures. Born in the UK, I was blessed to have the opportunity to live for a year in a rural part of Western Kenya in 1982, when I was just 18 years old. This changed my outlook on life forever. Since then I have mostly lived outside of the UK, in Japan and the Caribbean. While I value my up-bringing in England, I now appreciate that theres more than one way to shoe a horse! The English writer E.M.Forster wrote on the title page of one of his novels Only connect. I think this sums up a basic human requirement, and the world becomes a better place the more connections are made.Happy listening!
