The Amida Society (AS) in the Los Angeles County, California was established and registered on January 8, 1990 as a religious nonprofit corporation as described in Section 501(c)(3), 509(a)(1) and 170(b)(1)(A)(i) of the IRS, and Code Section 23701d (Church) of the Revenue and Taxation Code of the State of California.The primary purpose of the Amida Society is to share the benefits of Buddhist education by distributing educational materials, providing lecture classes, seminars and retreats, and establishing a superb environment for practicing and studying, completely free of charge to the public.
