Welcome to my YouTube site. I am a collector of antique cylinder and disc phonographs. All of my phonographs require no electricity to operate. The records are turned with spring driven motors and sound is reproduced through mechanical amplification. These phonographs were manufactured in an era when many American homes had no electricity! My record collection includes cylinders, 78rpm discs, and Edison Diamond Discs. My oldest record, a wax Edison cylinder, dates from 1898. My newest record is a 78rpm disc from the early 1930s.The low fidelity sound reproduction of these old phonographs takes some getting used to, especially if you are acustomed to listening to modern stereo recordings on your iPod or CD player. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy listening to these machines from the very early times of the recording industry.
