David Ede and the Rabin Band was one of Britain's foremost dance bands in the 1950s and early 1960s and consisted of many of the country's top session musicians. The band and its vocalists had a residency at the Wimbledon Palais in southwest London from the late 1950s to 1963. During the same period they performed in more than 200 episodes of a weekly radio show on the BBC's Light Programme entitled Go Man Go playing the top pops of the day along with the occasional big band feature demonstrating the jazz skills of the musicians. HonestArry's Rabin Band Channel mostly features off-air recordings from Go Man Go made on reel-to-reel tape between 1962 and 1963 by HonestArry who was then around seventeen to eighteen years old. The tapes are now at least sixty years old and have been stored in less than adequate conditions that have resulted in an audio quality that is far from hi-fi so please make allowances and enjoy this musical journey into the past.
