This channel shows how to build a rose float for the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade through the perspective of Cal Poly Pomona and San Luis Obispo students. The two Cal Poly campuses have consistently entered rose floats into the parade since 1949. We have won a total of 60 awards. Cal Poly Rose Float continues to be a leader in innovation as students have introduced: hydraulics, fiber-optics, propane powered engine, hydro-static dive systems, computer-controlled animation, showcased a new breed of rose, animated deco, and a color changing floral effect to the Rose Parade. The ultimate goal of this channel is to give the public a behind-the-scenes look at how Cal Poly builds some of the best floats the Rose Parade has ever seen. This channel is operated independently from the schools by a former CPP student who's passionate about the program after working on Bedtime Buccaneers (2014) through A New Leaf (2017).
