My goal is off grid living. It has been my goal since before the age of 6 years old. I still have that dream. Through my entire life I have been finding out more and more about alternetive energy and fuels. I have been improving my manual skills and have learned more about long term food storage and survival. No matter what part of the political spectrum you are on, you know that we need to use less oil. Whether your justification is to reduce the demand for foreign oil or whether your justification for feeling that we need to use less oil is environmental, the fact still remains. We need to use less oil. On top of that, there are many other ways that we can learn to live in a more sustainable manner and to reduce our reliance on the infrastructure that surrounds us. This is something that all people believe in, standing up for yourself and being independent. As silitary individuals we can't change society, but as a group of people from all walks of life, we can create something that can stand as a representation of our common goals as humans, something that we can use as a message to the multinationals, the presidents and prime ministers of the world and say "we were prepared to do this, and now you know what we want for our world and for our children's world"."Sustainability" is not just a "liberal" idea, it is a human idea and a human ideal. It is there to help us to conserve that which is good and not just to make us slaves to the economy.
